Søren Vernersen to further develop Swiss customer base and strengthen regional presence
Danish-based international bunker supplier and trader OW Bunker has appointed Søren Vernersen as a new sales manager within its Swiss office in Geneva. The appointment is designed to capitalise on the opportunities in the region, strengthen the company’s operations, as well as grow, develop and provide more value to the existing Swiss customer base.
Søren Vernersen will take responsibility for driving the trading arm of the Swiss operation, in conjunction with the rest of the purchasing and trading team in the region. OW Bunker says in a statement that it believes there is real opportunity for further growth and development in the Swiss market, particularly Geneva, which is one of Europe’s leading trading hubs for the oil and derivative industries.
Kristian Nielsen, manager of OW Bunker’s World Wide Trading division, said: “The Swiss market is full of opportunity, which we are determined to capitalise on. It is vital that we get closer to our customers and provide them with real value and access to quality products, quickly and at competitive and market leading prices. Our knowledge of the region, our flexibility, as well as our understanding of the complexities of the market sets us aside, and provides us with the foundation to build strong relationships with our customers that are based on understanding their business and operations in order to develop the most appropriate fuel procurement strategies. I am confident that Søren will be a real asset to the team, and will utilise his experience to grow our market share within the region.”
