Supplier consolidates country function in regional office

Danish-based global supplier and trader OW Bunker has merged its Stockholm office into one main location in Gothenburg, the company’s head office in the region.  The company says that the move will further strengthen its presence in Sweden, “as well as providing all customers with a centralised team, a single point of contact, access to greater resource and knowledge, as well as quality products and services”.

As part of the merger Svante Carlberg will move from Stockholm to Gothenburg, where he will carry on servicing customers associated with the Stockholm office to ensure continuity.  Ingvar Modin is retiring after 13 years of service. The new centralised operation will continue to be led by Managing Director, Lenah Soldan.

A company statement says: “The development further increases the strength of OW Bunker’s operation in Gothenburg, following the launch of physical supplies in 2009.  As well as Gothenburg, the company has the capability to provide product deliveries in all west coast ports, and ports in southern Sweden, including Helsingborg and Malmö. OW Bunker also provides an offshore service out of Gothenburg for customers who do not want to deviate from their routes, saving time, as well as associated in port costs; the focus being on providing customers with as much efficiency and flexibility as possible.”

OW’s vice president Götz Lehsten said: “The merger enables us to have all our best people, their knowledge of the local market and their industry expertise in one location, and to provide our customers with an even more efficient and responsive service, which is what they want.  Gothenburg is one of the main bunkering hubs within Scandinavia, and it is vital that we continue to strengthen our operations on an ongoing basis and as part of a co-ordinated global growth strategy.”
