Chemoil expands team

International bunker supplier brings in staff to its global offices and promotes key personnel

International bunker supplier Chemoil has announced a number of additions to its global offices as well as the advancement of several key personnel.

At Chemoil’s Singapore headquarters, Koichi Tahara has been appointed Director of Strategic Planning. Mr Tahara has worked with one of Chemoil’s major stakeholders, Itochu for 24 years during which time he has worked closely with Chemoil. Formerly the Deputy General Manager of the International Trading Department at Itochu, Mr Tahara has been tasked with, among other
roles, developing Chemoil’s corporate business strategy.

Chemoil says it will also benefit from the vast experience of Fred Bendle who has taken up the role of Director of Internal Audit. In his new role  he will oversee the company’s internal systems operations as well as making sure Chemoil meets all of its compliance obligations.

In New York, Gregg Schwartz has been hired to manage Chemoil’s newly opened regional office. Most recently a regional trading manager for Chevron Global Marine Products, Mr Schwartz’s experience in the bunker industry is expected to enable Chemoil to continue to provide the in-depth of industry understanding and local knowledge.

Senior operations staff, Robert Pelech and Michael Porzio, have also been recruited to support him. Tammi Herouart will be responsible for marketing, and prior to joining Chemoil was with Chevron Marine Fuels.

Other additions to Chemoil include Ho Ting Teck, who has been named General Manager of Barge Operations based in Singapore and bunker traders Deepak Dharwal and Peter Ng, who join the trading teams at ChemoilAdani in India and Singapore respectively.  Gaurav Dwivedi, previously with ChemoilAdani, has been appointed the new sales manager for Chemoil Dubai. Anil Keswani has taken up the role of General Manager of Sales and Marketing of ChemoilAdani, the joint venture between Chemoil and Adani that that is now a major bunker fuel supplier in India.

Keith Richardson, formerly the managing director of Chemoil Latin America,  has been appointed Global Business Development Manager for Marine Fuel. Rune Kongstein has joined the company as general manager of marketing of its European operations.
