The Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers and the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation have signed an agreement on cooperation
The Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers and the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation have signed an agreement on cooperation.
The agreement has formally confirmed the existing interaction and cooperation of the parties in the sphere related to the Ministry’s functions on development of state policy, and legal regulation in the sphere of maritime and river transport. The Ministry’s subdivision to observe implementation of the provisions within the framework of the newly signed agreement is the Ministry’s department for the state policy in the sphere of maritime and river transport.

The joint work of the bunker community and the Ministry of Transport will cover a number of initiatives, including the improvement of a legal base in the sphere of maritime and river transport, and the creation of a favourable legal environment for the operation of the Russian fleet (including the bunkering fleet) on inland waterways and on international routes within Russia’s sea and river ports.
The Federal Fishery Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) plans to build fuel terminals in a number of Russian fishing ports.
This project was announced by Andrey Kriniy, head of Rosrybolovstvo, during a meeting of the State Committee on the Fishing Economic Complex in April 2009.
A corresponding agreement on bunkering in all Russian fishing ports was reached between the Federal Fishing Agency and oil company Rosneft in March.
According to this agreement, Rosneft will provide bunker fuel in all Russian fishing ports at global prices, as a direct seller, Kriniy said. “Calculations show the price for a tonne of fuel will be RUR 3,000 less than the current one and less than that of intermediate sellers.”
